The Roadstone Aristocrat Walling range of blocks are manufactured and supplied under an NSAI registered I.S. EN ISO 9001:2000 quality system.

The use of a specific mix of graded aggregate ensures a tight textured finish ideal for air leakage control and ideal for painting.

Roadstone Aristocrat Walling is manufactured to tight dimensional tolerances, has excellent arrises and complies with I.S. EN 771-3:2003.

In addition, Roadstone Aristocrat Walling has a number of characteristics which make it particularly useful in sustainable buildings.

Air Leakage
Roadstone Aristocrat Walling has been tested on a regular basis by BSIRA and has achieved signifcantly better results than 3m³/hr/m² at 50 Pascals required for energy efficient buildings.

It is essential to ensure that all joints are fully filled with mortar and a bucket handle joint is recommended to achieve maximum air tightness.

Finish
Roadstone Aristocrat Walling is normally built fair faced and because of it's excellent tight texture it is particularly suitable for painting. Aristocrat blocks should be mixed from a minimum of three pallets and from load to load in order to distribute the normal colour variation and texture of a natural material.

Sound Insulation (dB reduction)
When tested to ISO 140-3:1995 under laboratory conditions Aristcrat Walling gave the following dB ratings.

Fire Resistance:
"Eurocode 6 - Design of Masonry Structures - Part1-2: General Rules - Structural Fire Design" gives determinarion of fire resistance of concrete block walls.  Table N.B3.1 to table N.B3.6 of annex A give the fire resistance classifications of dense and lightweight aggregate concrete units conforming to I.S. EN 771-2:2003.

Thermal Properties:
Thermal resistance "R" value of 100mm solid block = 0.075 W/mK
Thermal resistance "R" value of 215mm cavity block = 0.210 W/mK
