Celebrating International Women's Day

International Women’s Day 2026, celebrated on 8 March, provided a meaningful opportunity for Ireland Materials to recognise and support women in our communities. To mark the occasion, colleagues across Roadstone and Northstone took part in the “Give to Gain” initiative, reinforcing our shared commitment to empowerment and social impact.

As part of the programme, colleagues across Roadstone and Northstone were each given €5 to donate to a charity of their choice. Across both businesses, six charities were supported—three by Roadstone and three by Northstone—helping to champion organisations dedicated to advancing and supporting women.

At Roadstone, employees had the option to donate their €5 to one of three inspiring charities: the Irish Countrywomen’s Association, Women’s Aid, or the Her Sport Foundation.

The Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA) is Ireland’s largest women’s organisation, and one of its longest‑established. It plays a vital role in strengthening communities nationwide, bringing women together through friendship, education, skills development, and community action across both rural and urban Ireland.

Women’s Aid is Ireland’s leading national organisation working to prevent and respond to domestic violence and abuse, including coercive control. Since 1974, it has provided essential support to women and children through advocacy, education, and frontline services.

The Her Sport Foundation is an Irish not‑for‑profit organisation established to break down the barriers that prevent girls and women from participating in sport. Its mission is to drive long‑term cultural change, ensuring women have equal opportunities in sport at every level.

At Roadstone, we were delighted to play our part in supporting women within our communities, raising over €890 for these three incredible charities.

Our celebration of International Women’s Day didn’t stop with the Give to Gain drive. We also prepared a short video featuring the inspiring women of Ireland Materials, who share their perspectives on empowerment — one of the key pillars underpinning our success.

In the video, they describe how empowerment enables them to support female colleagues and help everyone reach their full potential.

We invite you to take a look at the video below, which is also available on our LinkedIn page.
