Designed for versatility, the Downstream Defender® Select accommodates various inlet pipe sizes and up to three inlets—eliminating the need for complex pipe connections, couplings, or additional chambers.

The Downstream Defender® Select reliably treats runoff from any impermeable surfaces including highways, car parks and industrial areas:

- ·Stormwater enters the chamber through a side-mounted inlet chute, initiating a controlled rotational flow.
- ·Floatable pollutants like oils, litter, and debris rise to the surface and are captured in the floatables storage zone. With the enhanced oil retention option, specialized media absorbs hydrocarbons to prevent washout during high flows.
- ·As the flow spirals downward, a low-energy vortex guides sediment inward along the benching skirt, directing it into a protected sediment storage area.
- ·The treated water then reverses direction, spiraling upward before exiting through the outlet hood.
