Award winning Cherrywood Village Attenuation Project, South Dublin

Delivering a Customer‑Connected Water Management Solution

Cherrywood Village is one of Ireland’s largest new residential developments - an 11,000 home master‑planned community in South Dublin. In late 2025, Roadstone, in collaboration with Hydro International and B&C Contractors, delivered a customised stormwater management solution providing 1,500 m³ of storage capacity.

The Challenge

To deliver a customised stormwater management solution amid the following constraints:

  • Existing live services obstructing excavation.
  • Foundation and ground-level limitations.
  • Boundary and access restrictions.
  • Safety concerns surrounding deep digs and service proximity.

These issues meant that standard off‑the‑shelf stormwater products would not work. What was required was a fully integrated, site-responsive engineering solution built around the realities of the construction environment.

 

The Solution

Working as a unified team, Roadstone, Hydro International and B&C Contracting delivered a bespoke attenuation system designed specifically for this site. 4 Stormbloc tanks became 5 stormbloc tanks with tank orientation being altered to suit site conditions.

  • Rapid redesign of the original concept to accommodate real-world limitations
  • Engineering adjustments that preserved performance, compliance and safety
  • Continuous design refinement as the works progressed

Integrated Delivery

Roadstone provided a single coordinated supply solution, delivering:

  • Stormwater products.
  • Hydro-Brake® flow control systems.
  • Stormbloc Attenuation structures.
  • Hydrocarbon Interceptors.
  • Asphalt Paving.

This unified approach simplified delivery for the customer, who benefited from streamlined procurement, consistent quality and fewer points of contact. 

The Result

The Cherrywood Village attenuation project is an example of what Roadstone can achieve through early engagement and technical collaboration.

As stormwater management becomes a national priority - driven by flooding events and government focus - Roadstone is positioned with the right products, capability and partnerships to support Ireland’s next generation of water infrastructure.

Lessons Learned

Early Engagement - Involving Roadstone at the outset ensured that challenges were identified early and addressed collaboratively.

Technical Expertise - Both Hydro and Roadstone’s stormwater teams contributed advanced design capability, enabling the solution to evolve dynamically with site conditions.

Customer‑Connected Approach - The project demonstrated Roadstone’s ability to act as a true partner, problem‑solving, coordinating materials and supporting the customer from design to installation. 

Its delivery was recognised as being best-in-class by our parent company at the 2026 CRH International President’s Awards.
