Hallmark Walling selected for stunning A rated dwelling

The Challenge

To provide a robust and traditional finished masonry product to compliment the contemporary look of this large country dwelling the product would have to be:

Able to accommodate the design features specified by the architect.

Provide a robust masonry surface to this A rated dwelling.

Provide an aesthetically pleasing design which compliments the cut stone section of the building.

The Solution

Roadstone provided 290m2 of Hallmark Walling (Pewter Blend) for the exterior wall of this stunning new build.

Hallmark Walling is used as the external leaf for standard concrete block houses and gives a rugged natural stone appearance. Hallmark Walling  has been a very popular building material in Ireland for over 30 years.

Hallmark Walling comes in mix of 7 different size pieces and is a true colour building material which means the colour goes all the way through the block. The Hallmark Walling in this project was built to a random bond to maintain the look of natural stone and was complimented by granite sills and Roadstone’s Forticrete Quoins. The small Hallmark pieces were used to make a nice soldier course feature over the windows and doors.

Hallmark Walling is suitable as an external leaf for domestic and commercial buildings and for boundary walls, piers, entrances and garden features.

The Pewter Blend Hallmark complimented the natural stone used at the front of the house and was cost effective enough to allow the homeowner to give a natural stone appearance to the rear and sides of the house as well as the adjacent garage.

The Hallmark Walling  allowed for an attractive soldier course feature over the windows and the garage door.

Hallmark Walling does not need Quoins, as seen on this project, as it goes around corners seamlessly. Forticrete Plinth blocks were used below the Hallmark walling and these were also supplied by Roadstone.

Ensure that a sample panel is built so the masonry can be seen as it will be constructed.

Ensure masonry work is protected over night during construction.

When building using Hallmark, blend from at least 3 bales to ensure there is no slight colour variation.
